that definitely looks like a potential solution. i wish all manufacturers would state the height from the center of the sights/optics to the top of the rail, for their mounts etc. then we (the consumer) would be able to determine what sort of co-witness (if any) we'd be getting. larue is good about providing those dimensions, but other aren't.

Excellent point. Thankfully we have plenty of nice people who do much of that for us, such as yourself and too many others to name. :-)
Of course I still won't know where the best cheek weld is for me (shorter irons and optic or AR height) until I can hold a weapon with those accessories. At least knowing the heights would limit the possible choices and wasted money/time.
Sigh......
Insight MRDS still sitting in its box waiting for an M4 flat-top co-witness mount........
I will say, the ADM mount would be absolutely perfect if the simply added height to the setup. It is lightweight, has repeatable QD, and I believe has prongs long enough to accommodate the protective shroud installed.
Perhaps we should all email ADM and request this very product! Their email is sales@americandefensemfg.com
Just got off the phone with AD. They were kind enough to measure their mount with an MRDS (including protective shroud) on a rifle.
From base of the rail to the center of the optic: 1 1/8"
From base of the rail to the bottom of the glass: 13/16"
Called Troy to get the height of their new Micro BUIS, but they are closed. Will try them tomorrow unless someone here has a set already and can measure them.
I recently received an email from ADM that they are planning a co-witness mount for the MRDS and to check back with them in the next 3-4 weeks.
Hopefully the height is the correct height. I also remember that the 4 corner studs were a tad too short to properly engage the holes in the MRDS when the protective shroud was used on their low mount. I'm also hoping they take care of this issue.
Hope is definitely on the horizon!
Bump.... Any progress here from any vendor?
bump...me too waiting to hear. Anyone find another mount that will co-witness?
So was checking to see if an absolute co-witness mount was yet available for the MRDS and came across this new possibility.

Anybody have any experience with this? Is this really a functional co-witness mount for a flat-top AR?
