    Aimpoint T-1 and FSB

Hey guys. Currently I am running a aimpoint M3 with fixed front sights. thinking of the T1 for the nice weight savings. Due to the T1s 20mm tube would a fixed front sight cover a lot of the tube? It seems most T1s are being run with fold down front sights is this the reason? or would the M3s 30mm tube work better with the fixed front sights. Has anybody considered this an issue?

I am running an H-1 with a fixed FSB and never even notice the FSB when focusing on the target as one should be doing.

Totally correct. I switched from a Comp M2 to a T-1 (with fixed FSB, plus a Surefire x300 in front of it no less) and noticed exactly 2 things: 1) the gun is a hell of a lot lighter and 2) there's much less of a 'looking down a cardboard tube' effect because walls of the T-1 are so much thinner. Run it with both eyes open, focus on the target and you should essentially just see a red dot floating out in space that indicates 'hole will go here'.

the only time you will notice the front sight is if you use a magnifier behind it, and have to use one eye only.

    No problems here.

I run mine (well an H-1 really) on a ADM SOCOM height mount for a lower 1/3 co-witness, and in conjunction with a standard FSB and fixed DD rear.

Fixed sights are hardly noticeable, and really when running the gun are completely a non-issue.

You sure? I would think the 3x would blur out the FSB to a very unnoticeable fade?

If you're seeing the front site, magnified or not, then you're doing it wrong.

Can we get this thread, or one like it, tacked now so that we can stop seeing this same question and issue over and over again?

Leave the house, go to the range, shoot with the gun. Move and shoot. Shoot moving targets. Shoot multiple targets. Shoot multiple moving targets while on the move. If you're noticing the front sight in all of this, you're doing it wrong.

I would submit that if you have a lower 1/3 cowitness and a 1x optic even the REAR sight getting in the way is indicative of doing it wrong.
