Turning down the dot intensity to the lowest possible for the lighting conditions helps with the astigmatism. In a pinch, you can deploy your rear BUIS and look at the dot through the smaller aperture and that will focus the dot better but it is a slow technique. But when deployed correctly as Rob and Shivan have pointed out, you should be focusing on whatever is downrange and the FSB is not a problem.
Bring your RDS in with you when you make an eye appointment for the astigmatism. Sadly, I've come to the realization that with my crappy eyes, I won't be shooting Molon like groups with my RDS and will be getting higher power glass for that kind of shooting. My Aimpoints will be reserved for HD/Training, doing what I feel they do best for me, helping me get lead on COM in a hurry under duress.
