Right on, another A+ for BCM!
When someone gets a chance to run one can you give your opinion on which size is better for you and why. I want one just not sure which one yet, I want to get a better grip on my charging handle I just don't want to get tangled in my own mess. I'm thinking the mod 4.

As soon as these are back in stock I'm replacing all my CH with them, I broke my PRI gasbuster yesterday running some basic drills at my local range. The pin, ground itself down and gave out while I was clearing a type 1, let go of the CH and saw something go flying past the line, yeah.... it was the latch.
Best part is the top and bottom of the pin are still there![]()

Mine (Mod 4) arrived from BravoCompany
All I can say is NICE.
Can't wait to try it out, I forsee a few more of these for my other rifles.

I have the 4, and I can tell you now just from running it in the house, that any larger and I wouldn't like it nearly as much.
I'm glad they make the 3, as it hopefully gives an alternative to those obnoxious huge Badger latches, but outside of a dedicated benchrest gun I would stick to the 4.
I was going to put the Model 4 on both of my rifles, but decided to get one of each instead just to check out the difference. I figured that if the Model 3 was too long, poked the chest when slung, got hung up on clothes or rig in transitions etc, that I could sell it easily and get another Model 4 later on.
I put the "3" on my M4LE and the "4" on my new-to-me 20" BCM, figuring that the M4 would be more likely to benefit from the sure quick grip of the bigger latch. Let me say here that the smaller Model 4 is still a vast improvement over the standard c.h. and that the Model 3 just makes things that much easier with its added surface area and leverage. They are both way solid and both offer a dextrous purchase without having to pay special attention to it or change from the previously practiced charging sequence. Even with gloves on the charging motion is positive, natural and quick.
I just got these today and only played with them "dry" in house, but I don't think there will be any problem with the Model 3 hanging up on clothing etc. Tomorrow I'll load a little chest rig up and see how that plays. The longer handle latch is a wee bit noticeable when wearing it with the sling cranked up high. It really doesn't dig in or anything, it's just enough that you recognize it is there, (ymmv). Short of diving to the ground with the rifle underneath you I wouldn't expect any "stabbing" issues with the longer latch.
I do really like the design of these handles and of course the quality of fit and finish is tops. I will be keeping both models right where they are and feel that you couldn't go far wrong with either one.
One last note: In my feeble linear numeric mind I am still stumbling over the bigger handle being the one with the smaller # attached to it. It's a personal problem I know, but that still seems counter-intuitive and I have to check myself to not misname them. Anyway, hope this post is helpful somehow.
Same here. I just got the Mod 4 in yesterday and ran it in the house. Compared to the standard handle, even the medium size of the Mod 4 makes a huge difference. I debated on whether to get the larger Mod 3 but I'm glad I went with the medium Mod 4. I did notice some jabbing in the midsection, depending on how low I had the gun slung, that I had not felt with the standard handle. Of course that's not the fault of the handle, but more to my body shape.
Functionally, the handle works extremely well, at least as far as I can tell without actually being in a range environment. It's very robust, with a nice solid feel to it that gives a confident rack to the action. The latch gives a nice wide no-slip area to hook an index finger on and makes racking much more comfortable. I did notice a couple of times that if I placed my finger in too deep into the latch (closer to the receiver) that there was a tendency to pinch the skin of the finger between the handle and the latch as the latch moved to the rear. I learned to keep the side of my index finger more towards the outer flat of the latch where the serrations are and I had no problems. Just a tiny matter of getting used to how it works. Of course, YMMV depending on how fat/skinny one's fingers are. Tonight I'll try it with gloves on and see if there's any issue there or not.
Otherwise, bravo to Paul at BCM (and VLTOR) for making a useful, high quality product!![]()
I'll get a chance to run mine for three days starting Friday. Hoping my BAD comes in today so I can have it in time as well.![]()
