While the GG&G mount does sit lower than the regular LaRue mount, it does not give an absolute co-witness like the KAC mount.

Im still looking for reasons for people prefering an absolute co-witness. Care to offer any?

So far Ive had a single one that holds some water. Why obstruct your field of view with the iron sights?

    Thanks, Rick

with a RDS you shouldnt see the front sight with the rear flipped down. you should only see the target. so the sights dont really get in the way at 1/2 or 1/3 witness. the advantage for 1/2 would be a lower cheek weld, and also most 3x magnifier mounts line up better with the height of the 1/2 witness sights. hope this helps.

Thank you, but if you are using an absolute co-witness (1/2) the front site does obscure the target. Espcially if you are holding over at longer ranges. I have an EOtech magnifier that ive used w/ my T1 and EOtech model whatever (the new taller ones) and it seems to work just fine.

ya i guess with an eotech its different, but i mounted the new eotech magnifier to a t1 on a ggg 1/2 mount and it sat a little to low. i could see a dark half ring on the top of the sight picture because it sits to low.

    Ouch...

I was all set to order one of these until I saw the price tag. It's almost double the cost of the Larue mount...Granted I like the multiple platform heights, but that's a hard pill to swallow right there...

How is the "quick detach" feature. Comparable to the Larue?

Was not aware of that. Good to know.

It's a solid mount and worth the price.

The "quick detach" feature is a bit different than Larue's. The LT mount lever and cam are one piece which rotates under the rail, whereas the KAC lever is a seperate piece that pushes a plate (or whatever that piece is called) against the rail.

Obvoiusly, the locking features are different as well.

I've received mine. I am not quite sure why the lever needs to be so long; I can see potential of snagging gear etc. Subjectively, LaRue and ADM locks feel a bit more rugged to me. I am hoping that we'll see some objective reports in near future. I'll be sure to take it to my next class, but I don't plan any for next 6-8 months.
