The best way I have found to store AA and AAA for emergencies.

This isn't something I came up with, but I made a quick little video explaining the benefits of storing batteries in cartridge boxes. I just want to point out that I am not a distributor for MTM or any other ammo box company. This is just something that I do, and I wanted to share.

What caliber boxes did you use? Looks like a pistol box and a rifle cal box?

According to the description that accompanies this video on YouTube...

The AA battery box is the MTM Case Gard 50 - RSLD-50 .223-.500 S&W.
The AAA battery box is the MTM Case Gard 50 - R-50 .17 Fireball - 6mm-.223.

I wonder is a 45 acp box would fit CR123?

You would be better off storing lithium batteries due to the much longer shelf life.

You might want to look for a way to refrigerate them. I have loads of every size I use put away, and Aaa are the worst. They corrode in just a couple years or less. The others have no problems. This is at room temp, in an ammo can. No, they aren't touching the can.

Lithium will store longer, but the major alkaline brands are now claiming 10yrs. Lithium is also much, more expensive, and not available in all sizes.

If storing for shtf, not only are they for you, but can be for barter.
