I might have to get one of those fingerstops, maybe more than one. I run a X300 on my Sig 226 Elite, was using it on another AR until I got the conversion head for a scout and a malkoff bulb. If I could get the X300 closer to the muzzle mounted 12 o'clock I would run one, but I dont want to lose the functionality of the URX front sight by placing a light on top. That setup is for a different build, another day. The Scar isnt heavy at all, maybe a little more so than the SR-15 but its balanced great. Only gripe I have for the SCAR is the handguard length, it is comparable to a carbine length setup on a AR so if you like to run your support hand further out it can be an issue. Compared to the M6A2 in that picture, its a featherweight. The M6A2 reminds me of the days I carried a 249.

    IWS QD Swivel cup.

We are going to be removing these eventually as most users have found them to be to close to the selector to ensure clear usage of it, when using a sling with a QD swivel in it.

Interesting info Kevin. Maybe you guys could add a Noveske endplate instead?
Anyhow, I am working on some pics of my E3's too guys. Mines done up in FDE like Titlest's E3 pics back on pg 1.
I have been pondering the extreme lightweight of the E3 rifle, and aside from the obvious thin bbl profile, I'm wondering if hammer forged bbls are perhpaps inherently lighter than standard CL'd bbls of the same diameter/profile???
    Anyone know?

They theoretically would be marginally heavier due to the density increase from the hammer forging.

Our SR15E3 barrel is light - my calipers say .6440 in front of the handguard and underneath.

    I don't think you'll find many skinnier.

    Kevin,

Well, now I have to wait for the new ones to come out before I get my second rifle.

Have you had any issues with the lower cracking at/near the QD cup? I ask since they are right in the area that the A2 uppers were strengthened at. The entire stock is cantilevered off the lower in that area. I was wondering if it would be safe to "mortar."

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Jason,

I've mortared SR16E3's demonstrating the technique, the area is pretty robust.

I found the most annoying aspect of the QD cups is that making a Magpul ASAP work requires some modification. I had to cut the ears down and re-park the piece to work properly:

That said, even though the gun required a few tweaks (MIAD modification, ASAP plate) it's easily the BEST rifle I've got in my collection, and I'd stake my life on this gun. It's just great.

I just got mine. Now its time to modify my asap and miad to get them on my sr15. This really is a very nice stick.
