Thread: Rear take down pin loose

    To add to this decade old thread because Google will bring others too it like it did me.

    Turns out my problem was with the lower not the takedown pin itself, the hole that the detent and spring ride in was slightly undersized on the end (the takedown pin side).

    I took a 3/32 drill bit and barely touched the end of the hole, which allowed the spring to actually push on the detent, fixing my problem!

    Hope this helps anyone not helped by the suggestion to bore out the detent spot in the pin.

    Glad to see your remedy and value-added reply. I'm also pleased to see the forum allows input to continue for very dated threads. Some forums lock a thread after an elapsed time of no activity which I've never figured out.
