Apparently from the response that “Singlestack Wonder” received, the BUIS is not designed as I originally thought, with the play in it that the A1 upper receiver’s sight has. I guess a call on your part to DD would be in order to get a direct answer.

I checked mine a week or so ago when I saw this and mine does as well. I just keep forgetting to call them.

I just got one from Brownells, and have some experience with it after changing out the aperture from the A2 that came with it to a CSAT aperture. Neither the stock unit nor the CSAT have any play in them that I can discern. I have not sighted it in with the CSAT, but in grabbing it with my fingers I couldn't move it, so I got a pair of needlenose and tried to move it with them and could not.

DD is sending me a new sight and also a shipping label to ship them back the old one. As I stated earlier, i had a very low serial number on my DDM4. (so I suspect this was a problem with the early ones) I went to my local gunshop and looked at the new A1.5 sights and there is absolutely no play. It also had a logo on the right side. My old sight did not have that logo.

Thumbs up to DD for making it right. And quickly as well.

fwiw, I got one from AIM several weeks ago and there is no movement. the DD logo is on the left (selector switch) side, if that means anything...

Guys, it's Eric from DD. Sorry it took so long to reply to this.

We have identified an issue with some of our sights, and we've come up with a fix.

    The issues are twofold:

    1. The coil spring/detent hole is drilled too deeply.
    2. The distance between the counterbores for the windage screw head and the windage drum is too short.

This causes side-to-side play that isn't taken up by the spring pressure. We've developed a way to eliminate this on all current and future production.

The fix is very simple. Call Joe, Jake, or Patrick at 1-866-554-4867 and let them know of your side-to-side play issue. They will ship you a replacement and a shipping label for return. Good to go.

My apologies for the inconvenience, but you know us, we'll make it good.

    Thanks for your business,

    Eric
