I was surprised that it was still pretty much the same after taking the dremel to it.

Just for the record, the Redimod is more than just a lightened Redimag. BFG uses different springs and other hardware than the regular version, and they are now doing a melonite finish which is another upgrade.

I adjusted mine by screwing in the rifle's magazine release. One turn should do it.

Well there you go, I JUST received another Redimod in the mail and straight out I noticed to seemed to have a different finish than my others, but they are worn pretty well and have a lot of shiny. It does look like Melonite, thanks Rob-s.

We are now (as of about a month ago) shipping all Blue Force Gear Redi-Mods with a Melonite finish. I've been holding off on making a formal announcement to allow our dealers a chance to clear out any of the remaining Phosphated versions.

FYI Meloniting is a thermo-chemical processes intended for the case hardening of iron based metals. These processes are categorized as molten salt bath ferritic nitro-carburizing baths. This process actually converts the surface layer of the metal and inhibits corrosion through the substrate of the metal.

Combined with the stainless steel components we have purpose made or purchased for the internals, the BFG Redi-Mod is as close to corrosion proof as we can get it.

Thanks for the info Stephen. That's good to know. Makes my purchase of one a no-brainer. I look forward to running one.
