The only SR15 I've ever seen unmarked was the first one I ever owned. It was one of the very first ones sold commercially. It may be one of the originals with the smaller gas port. Or, the upper was built up with a used takeoff barrel. Did the seller say how old it was or how many rounds were on it?
Email sent to you rapomstage3. Also double check the barrel extension to ensure it's a E3 configuration.

@mtdawg169: I also enquired about that upper. He said he bought it as a complete rifle through grabagun.com. Yeah KAC makes a lot of adjustments during any given product cycle to include marking changes, this is particularly prevalent on the rail systems. But I haven't seen a KAC upper that hasn't ever been marked though and this is going back to pre E3 days (M4, M5, Match, etc). After the switch over to the Mod 1 they did omit the laser etched KAC shield from the upper left hand corner on the non-ejection side. Buts it's still highly unusual for all the laser etching to be omitted. But like you said mtdawg169, you had one of the first commercial ones sold and it didn't have markings. I have a couple early legacy SR-15 E3 with the smaller gas port but those are marked.

It will get a kmr rail when it's released.

The first one I had was completely sanitized. This was when they still laser engraved part numbers on the rails and mine was completely unmarked on the upper. Never saw another one like it. Then again, I also had one with the dirt groove machined into the bolt face.

Rampomstage, check the bolt, barrel extension and barrel profile to try and verify the upper as genuine.

Just to be clear, the only thing missing is the KAC crest?

Definetly E3. Crest and sr-15. Just to be clear. I don't really care. It just makes it a little easier to beat the shit out of it.
