    Trident,

    Thanks for the compliments.

For me, the biggest issue with the Accupoint was getting used to the eye relief at 1x. I find that I'm faster and more efficient with an RDS instead of the TR24. For what I'm running this rifle for (within 300m at my local range and classes) having the variable magnification wasn't of much use. I found that the only time I had it magnified was when I took it to a KD range and shot iron maidens at 400m and 500m.

Another reason for the swap is because my unit run EOTech's (I know, I know...) and for me the additional familiarization and practice with "that" reticle transfers over to my service rifle.

Finally, one of the big selling points of the SR-15 over the other rifles I was considering is its light weight and balance. Given I'm a Gun Team Leader, it sounds a little weird that I'd complain about weight, but since one of the main reasons I bought the KAC was to exploit its light weight, I feel that the Accupoint w/ ADM mount wasn't doing the rile justice because of how unbalanced and "rear heavy" it felt with it mounted.

The Accupoint is a GREAT optic, no doubt, just not for me with this rile. I look at the SR-15 as more of a battle rifle and not a match rifle, so for what I do with it, I'm more than happy just running an RDS.

excellent reply, thanks for taking the time

Very solid point about negating some of the LW feel in the SR15 by putting anything really besides a aimpoint or eotech on it.

Ive always thought that I shoot actually better and certainly like the reticle on the eotech's over the aimpoints...I just love the inherit trust and reliability that the aimpoint has always yielded me.

Still must be said, a TR24 in a Recon X is damn drool worthy

I absolutely agree on the first point. I've been fortunate enough to never have an EOTech go down, but the failure rate is just plain stupid for the rest of the guys.

As for the TR24...well...I do have a 7-day old one sitting on my desk beside me...

If i were a righty...that would be my ideal setup. The KAC handstop really is essential to the whole WL config. with a top rail SR07 imho.
    Nicely done!

It's a Colt 14.5" SOCOM with a perm'd AAC Blackout. The KAC rail is a URXII rifle length.

It's going to be my SOCOM-ish version of M4A1 except I have a different flash hider and I'm not using the DD RIS II (also, switched out the Colt bolt for a LMT ). I'm trying to sell off my ACOG for one of the RCO M4 versions for the 14.5" barrel, and I have a SureFire M620V that I want to run on it once Gear Sector comes out with an offset mount for it. Then I will probably put the T1 on my SR-15 upper.
