The KAC castle nuts are VERY secure from the factory and I would not be concerned about one coming loose. The only issue I had was that I wanted to install a Noveske QD endplate and all my wrenches were for the standard nut. Finding a single pin style castle nut that won't break off in the process is tough. The key is to have the lower well secured in a vise and to apply steady, strong torque.
