    Awesome! Much520 is looking at doing a 9.5" 300blk with an 8.5" URX 4.

I like the URX 4 after handling it at SHOT, but I was worried how it would work with the 9" AAC I'm using now. I'm not currently running it suppressed but will at some point most likely.

Is there enough clearance for an AAC suppressor (or any other QD can like the KAC or Surefire 762 mini)? If not, can a small spacer or shims be used to give you enough?

    Thanks.

It looks like you would need to shim the mount...

The shoulder is well behind the edge of the rail...

As near as I could measure it...
    Exposed threads:

Length of threads to shoulder was .609

you need a .80 barrel to rail delta to make an AAC can clear. Not sure about Surefire, but would assume same fit. This is based on MK18 stuff assuming that's as close a suppressor/rail fit as you can get.

ETA: an AAC shim kit gets you 0.095 if you use all the shims. Based on the measurement above, you'd need to shim out 0.3" leaving you only roughly 0.3" of thread engagement. A general rule of thumb is at least the diameter length of engagement. In other words, on a 1/2 x 28 thread, you'd want no less than 0.5" of thread engagement.

AAC M4-2000, DD 10.3 MK18 (KAC sight so it fits the thread )

I really appreciate that. Thank you very much, that answered my question perfectly.

Thanks man, that's very helpful as well. I'm still not sure I'm even going to suppress it, so I'll need to think about that one. With the URX 3 8" I have on there now, the few rail slots and the shorter bottom rail than the top and sides give me a little less room. On such a short rifle, an inch difference can be noticeable, which is about what the URX 4 8.5" would give me considering the shorter bottom rail of the URX 3 gives up about a half inch.

Thanks again guys, that was more info than I expected!

The KAC micro gas block works well with KAC mid-length gas systems. Both of the set screws are accessible through the keymod sections so I replaced the taper pinned gas block with the KAC micro. It is very difficult (IMHO) to replace the taper pinned gas block on the Mod 1. I've done it but there is too great a risk of scratching the rail and I don't feel like I can put enough force on the taper pins at the angle I'm forced to use. It is a perfectly reasonable thing to try but I don't do it because I don't want customers complaining about scratched gear. Though I haven't scratched a rail doing this yet it is only a matter of time.

I'm in a similar boat, I've decided to suppress my 11.5" urx upper, and from what I've gathered online i'll have to use a few shims to get the can to clear.
    Just a little mock up.

URX midlength 11.5" shouldn't be a problem but any shorter barrel is problematic for the midlength at least for surefire.

The LPVO and offsets are migrating over to an MWS I've got inbound. The Mod 1 reconfigured.
