What did you expect from a company that endorsed the hi-cap ban back in 1994!

She knows WAY MORE than Ruger does.

Yeah but does your mom over build wheel guns too?

I am starting to think if it was for the 10/22 that ruger wouldn't be a firearm company.

Just one more reason to not buy their AR.

I would like much more detail before believing Internet/friend/customer claims that any company does or doesn't do or want anything done to their products. What was the "customers" name, when did he call, whom did he speak with from Ruger, what was their reasoning for saying no?

I wonder what Colt S&W or most any company for that matter would say to an such a question. Then again I wonder if Colt would even talk to a mere mortal in regards to their "Defense" product line. Finally I would think that question would have been best ask before buying one of Ruger's rifles, if one was really interested in installing a suppressor.

Just one more reason to not buy their AR.
    That is just silly talk.

LOL, I really do not care what you "believe." Like I and going to post my local custmors name on the net.

He stopped into my shop on Saturday to look into buying a can. On Monday, he called Ruger to find out if it was ok to put a can on their AR. I did not bother to ask for the person name at Ruger as I wouldn't do anything with the info anyway.

Don't know, but I would guess that they would not say what Ruger said.

The person that bought the gun, got it used for nothing. Never before had he owned an AR so really had no idea about anything.

Just as an FYI, you can put a can on ANY weapon. So yes, you can put a can on the Ruger, but they just don't know what they don't know and told him not to do it.

Most manufacturers will refrain from recommending anything they are not 1000% sure of, mostly for legal purposes. Doesn't Glock recommend that their pistol not be loaded until immediately before use?

Have you asked any of the major manufacturers whether or not you should carry your pistol loaded? I'll almost bet they all recommend that you not carry loaded and only load the firearm immediately prior to use.
LOL, no on asking anyone if I can carry my gun loaded.

Companies have to tell you stupid things like that for liability reasons (even though they know what they are saying is stupid).

Putting a can on a gun is not the same as putting ammo in it.

That would make an interesting project and post. Call around to different manufacturers, see what they say, and let us know.

It wouldn't change anything, and I suspect there would be no surprises.

I'll just say it sounds like more Internet BS to me, and I don't care what you don't care about. Since we are posting non-documented hearsay. I'll share the following, a local friend of mine told me he called Ruger and _ _ _ _ stated that their SR-556 rifle was specifically designed to be used in conjunction with a suppressor.

The person that bought the gun, got it used for nothing.
    How exactly does that work

I'll just add this, had a average poster come along and posted that same post(without documentation) except the company/ies were LMT Noveske Colt or the like they would be shredded for heresy.

Sure, I can understand "internet BS" as I live on the net, but this is coming from me and a customer that I know. So you can believe it.

You cannot document a phone conversation (sorry). If I say it, you can bet it is GTG.

Most likely so, but people on this forum know that I do not make things up and my word is good.

They also know that LMT, Noveske, etc would NEVER say such a stupid thing.

I understand that you are a Fan of Ruger's firearms, but the company really has no idea about AR's (in general).
