S&W did not make Ruger's piston AR or state that you cannot use a can with it.

Too be fair. When I contacted Ruger to ask if they HP/MPI test their barrels and bolts they gave me a lame response. I tried to follow it up and have yet to get any info from them.

I'm curious if anybody actually looked at Ruger's website for any kind of confirmation? This is taken right out from their SR-556 webpage. I'm amazed this thread went past 1 page.

Adding to the rugged reliability of the SR-556 is the four-position, chrome-plated gas regulator. The regulator and piston driven system puts the operator in control, allowing the shooter to tune the rifle to specific ammunition conditions, which in turn minimizes recoil and maximizes reliability and long-term endurance. The gas system may be closed completely for manual operation during training or when using a suppressor.

Here's the link to follow it yourself to check: SR-556 LINK

Seriously . . . . Ruger needs to get all its people all on the same page!

Who said a house divided against itself cannot stand . . . . That's right Abraham Lincoln who was quoting The Bible. He must have been talking about Ruger and John Wilkes Booth was high on Ruger Kool Aid and assassinated him. I smell a conspiracy, what do you guys think?
