Dang, if we only had some "Industry Professionals" or SMEs to initiate contact with Ruger to clear this up....

Or better yet to get us 30+ Rugers to run 7,000 rounds through in a controlled setting...

I don't think any of the SME's or IP's on here care enough about Ruger to contact them about anything and they certainly are not going to be using their AR.

Not in the least. I am just calling a spade a spade and will/would do it with ANY company. Hell, check out my comments in the Magpul BAD thread (and I like ALL the Magpul guys).

I have personal knowledge of a conversation that Ruger had with one of the top firearms engineers in the country about their piston guns. The guy gave Ruger advice on how to make a better quality Piston AR and they Ruger ignored everything that he said.

Yes, guns are gonig back to Ruger for all kinds of issues. Is Ruger fixing these guns? Sure are. Is it a "band-aid" fix? Yes.

Wait a couple years and we will see Ruger AR's show some bigger issues than what we are currently seeing.

    Yes, yes I am.

I have no issue with Ruger making a gun, but realize where your limitations are and seek advice. When you get advice, use it! Ruger failed in this regard.

Well, I'm not too proud to reach out to Ruger. Maybe they'll talk to a dumb grunt.

Have at it! I have already wasted time talking with their CS people and trying to convince them that what they are saying makes them sound stupid.

As the saying goes, "you can't fix stupid."

She knows WAY MORE than Ruger does.

Here's a little info on Ruger's Chief Engineer:

    August 2000

    Walther USA Names President

Kurt Hindle has been named president of Walther USA, distributor of Walther's firearms, airguns and accessories. Hindle will lead Walther USA in expanding the company s presence in the United States.

Hindle worked in various engineer positions for General Dynamics and United Technologies before joining Smith & Wesson in 1987 as a product design engineer. He later managed the design and process improvement of existing products including the Third Generation and Sigma pistols, and holds several firearms-related patents.

Hindle holds a master's degree in engineering management from Western New England College and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

    September 2004

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (AMEX:SWB), parent of the legendary 152-year-old handgun maker Smith & Wesson Corp., today announced the promotion of Kurt Hindle to Director - Law Enforcement and Governmental Sales and the appointment of Amaro Goncalves as Director - International Sales.

Kurt Hindle, prior to this promotion, was in charge of Smith & Wesson's growing Walther business and was also responsible for market analysis and planning for the Company. Kurt has been with the Company for 17 years and has a master's degree in engineering management. Kurt's extensive product engineering background and marketing experience provide him excellent qualifications for his new role with the Company.

Amaro Goncalves spent ten years with Colt's Manufacturing Company, where for seven years he was responsible for Colt's international sales and prior to that role, headed up the Company's Latin America operations. His successful experience in international governmental and military sales with Colt's will be a significant new asset for the Company.

Roy Cuny, President and CEO of Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, commented, "We are very pleased to have Kurt and Amaro in the lead as we step up our efforts in the law enforcement and international markets. We believe these are high potential growth markets for Smith & Wesson and have, therefore, made them high priorities in our growth plan. The strength of these new placements underscores our objective to get our products to an expanded customer base, both at home and abroad."
I'm going to assume that Mr. Hindle had a finger or two in Smith's AR program.

Oh so this is why S&W AR's were so FUBARD!

I would say more, but have an NDA signed with them.

Words fail me at this point. Will report back soon with what I hear from S&W. I hope the maturity level on this thread rises in the mean time.
