Walther USA Names President
Kurt Hindle has been named president of Walther USA, distributor of Walther's firearms, airguns and accessories. Hindle will lead Walther USA in expanding the company s presence in the United States.
Hindle worked in various engineer positions for General Dynamics and United Technologies before joining Smith & Wesson in 1987 as a product design engineer. He later managed the design and process improvement of existing products including the Third Generation and Sigma pistols, and holds several firearms-related patents.
Hindle holds a master's degree in engineering management from Western New England College and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (AMEX:SWB), parent of the legendary 152-year-old handgun maker Smith & Wesson Corp., today announced the promotion of Kurt Hindle to Director - Law Enforcement and Governmental Sales and the appointment of Amaro Goncalves as Director - International Sales.
Kurt Hindle, prior to this promotion, was in charge of Smith & Wesson's growing Walther business and was also responsible for market analysis and planning for the Company. Kurt has been with the Company for 17 years and has a master's degree in engineering management. Kurt's extensive product engineering background and marketing experience provide him excellent qualifications for his new role with the Company.
Amaro Goncalves spent ten years with Colt's Manufacturing Company, where for seven years he was responsible for Colt's international sales and prior to that role, headed up the Company's Latin America operations. His successful experience in international governmental and military sales with Colt's will be a significant new asset for the Company.
