    Now the NM rifle course with the Garand is a great way to spend a day, and a real challenge in its own right, but it hasn't been relevant to anything since the 1930s. The NRA still hasn't discovered that.
    Bat, folks still have to learn how to shoot (Trigger control, hold, etc.) somehow/somewhere. Some of the same techniques used @ distance also work up close.

    Point taken. But you have to do it in a compressed time frame and to the degree required by the problem at hand.

    And it's easier with a good optic. Otherwise the great good government wouldn't be issuing expensive glass to eagle-eyed young men. Which I no longer am.
