I moved my med pouch to the very front on the cummerbund, as high as I can and it still affects my pistol draw a little. But I’m working around it.

Im shooting 2 gun this weekend with it actually. I doubt it will impede draw, because the only thing I have above the pistol is the thickness of a single AR mag. This plate carrier fits like a condom.

Im holding a shocking amount of med kit. Out of sight, out of mind until you really need it.

To be fair, I'm not a home sewer. My "home" machine is a Juki 8700 that came with some upgrades. I used my GI bill to go to fashion school at a major university and am in my 3rd year.
That is way cool, right on. I look forward to seeing what you came up with. The rig you displayed looks great!

So I gave it a little thought, and decided to go ahead and share this with the forum.

I call this concept the Super flat IFAK. It holds everything you need except for shears, TQ, and israeli bandage. I have those items stored elsewhere on the carrier. Right now I have in it: 2x chest seals, quick clot gauze, decompression needle, NPA, gloves. The thing I like the most is that you don't notice the IFAK when carrying it. It pulls out well too.

It is interesting/awesome how broad the career span is on this board.

So, it's integral to the plate bag and pulls out from the bottom? Clever.

    Sweet.
I've got a couple old Singers from the Industrial Revolution era.
Found some webbing, velcro, and bonded thread on Ebay, which has all come in real handy for small projects and fixing 'issues' with otherwise decent production items. Unfortunately it can't do any 'special' stitches, so my dabbling abilities are limited to straight lines.

Update pics on my kit with IFAK, TQ carrier and (with a little MacGyvering) Camelbak added... Again, note for the record that this is a *teaching* rig attempting to functionally replicate USMC FILBE as setup for an 0311 in the Rockpile, and since I've been unable to find any kind of chart of "what goes where" and all the NSN's for "no plate carrier" situations I would appreciate any help filling in the blanks y'all can give. Since these pics I've flipped the TQ upside down for easier access... TQ is on weakside shoulder strap, IFAK strongside far end.

last pic to show MacGyvered mounting solution:

Companion belt right now only has the dump pouch; I know this is where the bayonet scabbard and (when it arrives and where applicable) pistol holster will mount.

    Got a question.
Mags in the front of the plate carrier; it seems like it god forbid you ever do need your pc and end up getting shot in the front, the mags on the front would be all but certainly dead if they got struck. Anyone ever worry about that?

That being said, where else do you carry rifle mags?
