Modified PIG UCR for Range & Training.

Finally got my PIG UCR back from the tailor. I had him sew some tabs in the rifle mag pouches in order to install bungee retainers. I did not feel comfortable with just having one mag in the 2 center pouches because they bounced around and was concerned dropping to prone. I have never had the need to carry 8 mags so this seemed like the best option. I also had the front flaps on the handgun mag pouches split in 2. Running at the range while reloading caused the mag to fall out when the flap was pulled off. The final stitch was the H harness. I had the ends stitched to the shoulder straps in order to keep them from lifting up on the ends. Took it to the range and everything now works exactly as I want it to.

    Attached:
    -Esstac DST Blow Out
-Tactical Tailor Shotgun Panel (May remove and install molle velcro panel and use shell cards, interferes with belt mounted holster.
-EGL Dump Pouch attached to waist strap or belt.
    -PIG Mollevella

I'm surprised we don't see more of these. They're an awesome rig at an even better price IMO. I had the Eagle one but not in the color I wanted so I sold it to a friend and was going to buy the SKD one when they released it but never got around to it. They keep selling out.

I have one of the earlier Eagle/SKD chest rigs that I used as an active shooter/big call set up, before I got my plates. Now, its sitting dormant since I got my plates (see below). I'd like to find a way to set it up like you did (single mag retention, split up the pistol mags) to use as a range training/spare rig.

    Pic Thread:

Active Shooter/ big call Plate Carrier
    Front:

-Tyr Tactical Basic Plate Carrier (BPC) in Black. Plates are HighCom 4SAS-15 Shooter's Cut
-Integral 3X M4 mag pouches (empty in the picture)
-CAT TQ in BFG holder (might replace with another product in the near future- something that will protect the TQ more)
-Old Skool Cold Steel Recon 1 folder tucked in (still pretty sturdy; good for popping doors and pry work)

    Back:

    -TYR Tactical Small Cutaway IFAK
Usual contents (TQ, OLAES, Chest seals, NPA, hemostatics, decom. needle, gloves) shears tucked in behind, with blue chem light
-10 Speed pouch is for possibles, hydration, etc. Will probably move this to the front as a quasi-admin pouch

As it is, it fits fine and is snug enough to maneuver in. I may have to revisit this set up if I go to an external patrol vest next year. If I had to change anything, I'd rig up some wider shoulder pads and maybe some lighter plates, but otherwise, its simple, fairly slick, and it works great.
The advice above is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Been trolling this site for a while pulling tons of info and gear purchases (thank you equipment exchange!). About time that I shared the results, of which I'm pretty pleased with. This is my riot gear/kit in case of an uprising of zombies, socialists, denied obamacare recipients, or general turmoil.

One last man standing bench made fixed blade knife
    Missing hydration system (in process)
Hidden: froglube sample packets and surefire EP2s
    Total weigh: 22.8lbs

G17 with Trijicon HD sights and x300 in raven concealment holster
Two spare mags in Red Clover Concepts mag holster
ARES Gear belt in OD green, looks more like urban wolf

    Daniel Defense DDM4 V7
    ACOG w/RMR Top mounted

    Le load out
The reason for this load out is I sustained a back injury while on the job. I wear this vest for 10+ hours, and I believe that a molle setup is the best way to go due to the customization and real world scenarios. I have changed my set up numerous times, and will do so in the future (OCD lol).

The carrier is custom from Beez Combat Systems and the cumberbund is a FS retro fit cumberbund.
Starting From top to left to right Beez combat shoulder pads, HSGI shoulder pads, Blue Force Gear Boo Boo Pouch Austere Provisions Company with Asp Handcuffs, Hsgi Taco, FS ammo pouch, PIG gloves attached with a Maxpedition Grim loc (I know ironic), Blackhawk Taser X26 holster, Blue Force Gear Boo Boo Pouch with second set of cuffs, Esstac Kywi double mag holster, HSGI double decker with stream light flashlight and Leatherman OHT, and last but not least Tactical tailor silent key keeper.

Shitty pic of my First Spear cummerbund comparing the stock cummerbund
