Allow me to introduce Grant James, my newest boy!

Yesterday started out like any other day. Wifey and son were going to Cleveland, and I was staying local to work a side job.

At 1300 she calls me and says that she was in a car accident, but she and Alex are fine. She told me that the Jeep is fuct and that a silver Lexus SUV sped up and tried to get cut in front of her on a busy road up there. He struck the passenger corner of our Jeep.

I turn around, and race an hour up to Clevelend, getting there in 40 minutes . In the mean time, I managed to convince her that she needed to go to the hospital even though she refused transport at the scene. Eventually I won, and I met her there.

When they hooked her up to the monitors, holy they started showing contractions. A little more work by the staff showed that she was dialating! They were afraid of damage to the placenta because she was thrown around a little bit. We were gonna have a baby 60 miles from home, and we had nothing packed, strange doctors and staff and our primary car was wrecked!!

THank god my parents live close by and they picked up our 3 year old. Our best friend came up from Canton after letting our dogs out and gathering up some necessities. At 2027 last night Grant James was born after 36 weeks and weighed in at 5.12lbs. He is healthy and just kinda skinny.

The staff discovered a "true knot" in the umbilical cord that could have resulted in his death if he swam around and it tightened up.

My son was born with a Knot in the middle of his umbilical cord also. When the doctor pull him out she said “ Thank god we did a C section “.

I joke that he will be a sailor because he already knows how to tie a knot.

    Congratulations.

Congrats man. Looks like you have a beautiful family. Now less pics of the wife and more pics of the baby (I'm a sucker for babies).
