    Trijicon TA44SG-10

The new green reticle compact ACOG's have just been released! Snapped a few pics for everyone.

This is most likely my new favorite ACOG an will replace the Aimpoint Micro I am currently running.

Horrible reticle pic, but you get the idea. Look close and you will see a deer in the pic!

What are the reticle dimensions? Does it suffer from the same transition problems as other compact ACOGs, i.e. the bright outside to dark inside, through the doorway reticle washout?

If you follow the link to Trijicon, it has everything listed there.

These have a lot more eye relief and the other compact (even the TA33 series).

Is it as good an EOTech/Aimpoint with the 1X magnification? No. Is it bomb proof (no batteries and no electronics to fail)? Yes.

Can someone explain the niche this is supposed to fill?

It seems to me, an Aimpoint T1 is superior for all the CQB scenarios. And, a TA31/11/33 is better for operating at a distance.

1.5X seems to be the worst of both worlds. When you consider that the battery life of a T1 or M3/M4 is so ridiculously long. Battery life is not a realistic concern. Given these facts + the huge cost - I don't get it.

    What am I missing?

    Sure. CQB out to 300m.

Is an Aimpoint going to be slightly faster? Yes, I think so. I do think the circle/dot combo is actually faster on target though so it might be a wash.

The .5 magnification and smaller dot size will allow you to shoot more accurately at distance I think.

Remember that all electronic devices can fail (yes even Aimpoints). So the Trijicon will be more robust and you never have to change batts.

and any idea when you will be listing them?
    Thanks.
You don't want that model (if you are going to mount it onto an AR). You want the one I listed and a LT Compact ACOG mount.

We have them in stock so call us to order.

    Gotcha.

I had no intentions of ordering that model and to be honest, it is most likely over kill for that weapon.
