Rob, you ought to try out a Fiber Optic 7 or 9 MOA trijicon RMR. Been trying to grab one but Grant is always out of stock. Indoors performance was the same as an aimpoint, I think the only time it would really wash out would be under a bright flashlight and white background. I've never seen a trijicon product that regularly bright under different conditions.

Just curious if any of you guys who started this discussion (Grant, MM) are still running these and liking them?
I've been back and forth between optics for months now. RX30s, Aimpoints, the new Vortex PST 1-4x, and now this.
Are you guys still really liking this optic?
Have you used the slightly larger 2x20 versions?
yes, i still like it, but only for outdoors in decent light. if i had to pick one general-use optic (for a casual civvie shooter like myself, who usually shoots under 100 yds with a carbine), it'd be the aimpoint T-1.
FWIW I run the TA45-2 (1.5 x 24, amber triangle) and really like it for the eye relief (3.6"). It has even more exit pupil than the 1 x 16, but FOV is about 1/3 less. This new one with the green dot/ring looks like a honey. Maybe I can get one on the installment plan...
I mostly shoot outdoors in decent light but there is washout with a light. I don't like it but find I can bull through as the triangle IS there and I take the shot knowing it's in the middle where it's supposed to be.
I may be wrong, but I think 1.5X is just about the right power for what a carbine does best. Accuracy wise it may deliver out there a good way in the right hands, but for lethality it's good out to what--175-200 yards?
i just put a blurb up on my site about the TA44SR-10:

I know this thread has been dead a while but has anyone tried the TASG-10 from a dark area into a bright area or indoors with a flashlight. I am interested as I've been given the "green light"(pun totally intended)to use an optic on my rifle for SWAT (yes my dept has ridiculous rules so I had to get permission). I realize that a typical 1x red dot may be the better option, but I love the looks of the acog mini's and I like being different. I previous owned a trijicon reflex sight but the wash out was horrible in dark rooms when using my flashlight, which is exactly the setting I need my optic to work, so I sold it. I have heard the green is the best of the bunch so I'm interested to see if recticle wash out is no longer an issue. I can get a great deal on an Aimpoint H-1 so that will be my alternative. Thanks any input you've got.

I figured most would recommend the aimpoint. I've used a 4moa Aimpoint before and I'm fine with it. I'm just drawn to the green acog. No batteries or electronics to fail, and built to take a beating. I know the eye relief is very good with the 1.5x's. Plus the 1.5x doesn't affect CQB vision too much, supposedly. I don't really know this because I've never looked through one. I should add that I'm going to mount either optic I get, directly to my carry handle for now, so maybe the Trijicon will be better for that. My rifle needs to be set up similar to my dept's M4's. Since theirs are not flat tops, mine can't be either. I will not be able to use any optics for patrol(yet) either. My hope is that will change, then the 1.5x will be a welcome addition. I can get a new TA44sg-10 for $730 shipped so I've been very tempted. My main concern is wash out, because it was such a dealer breaker with my amber colored Trijicon reflex. Grant(or anyone that has one), is wash out still an issue with the GREEN acog's? Thanks.
