I am disgraced this is taking place 20 min. from my home. I don't even know what to say.

Well he is gonna get his paints sued off him, and be removed from office. How stupid can one person be.

Here in louisiana, there are two magistrates that don't have to have Law Degree's. Mayors, and Justice of the Peace's. Mayors can sentence you to six months is jail, and up to $500 fine. Any sentence can be appealed to district court where a real D/A and judge will decide. JP's mostly hand small claim civil cases, wage garnishments ect.

I have seen two JP's be removed from the bench by the LASC, its not that uncommon really. A judge (JP) must be impartial, and leave his personal beliefs at home. There was absolutely no reason not to issue the marriage license.

I hope they sue his ass.

I wonder if he denies the license for backwoods trash white couples that come in? Not like their kids are going to be in an easy ride, either.
