    PBS Frontline: Obama's War

Frontline is IMO some of the best journalism out there. Just came out with Obama's War which is pretty good also.

Just click the red 'watch the full program link'. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/obamaswar/

They also have tons of other shows you can watch online for free if you browse around. There are several on Iraq/Afghanistan.

    Obama war?

Is he even aware there are troops in hostile places? Doesn't seem like it

I listen to NPR(with a grain of salt) everyday, and watch Frontline occasionally. Neither is unbiased. Both lean way to the left. I do not consider either neutral. I balance them with a healthy dose of Boortz, Savage, and Limbaugh.

That being said, I will check out the program. The left is angry with POTUS for continuing Afganistan so maybe the program will ride him. Could be entertaining.

The episode has very little to do with Obama and everything to do with the political landscape in Afghanistan, the corruption there, and how it's the longest war we've ever engaged in. Very good episode.

The show had interviews with people with vastly different opinions on how to go forward in Afghanistan. PBS is left leaning but Frontline is usually quite good. Ive watched every online program they have on Iraq and Afghanistan...I havent found any of them to be anti-mil or against the war efforts. Critical but they address issues that are important such has this show had a lot on the Taliban influence and the shadow government they have setup in some parts of the country which you don't hear a lot about. I prefer the cold hard truth of the matter not hoorah blind faith. Like it or not we are at a critical point in Afghanistan and we need to know exactly what our goals are there, how we are going to go about accomplishing those goals, and exactly what issues we face. I think this show addressed those 3 things pretty well, and a lot more in depth than any other program Ive watched.

I listen to NPR daily, and I agree it is left slanted even if it doesn't seem to be trying to be if that makes any sense. Still though it is some of the best journalism around, and if you want really left garbage the progressive talk shows are a real hoot. Amazingly NPR has been rather critical of Obama which I really wasn't expecting.

I don't think there is such a thing as unbiased media anymore, sadly. However Frontline tends to be pretty good and there's a lot of PBS that is not left leaning. The Commanding Heights is a mini-series about capitalism in the late 20th and 21st centuries and is one of the best pro-free trade and pro-capitalism TV shows I have ever seen.

decoded- Hope the little diesel is doing well. Do you find yourself, every so often, wanting to punch the radio when listening to NPR? About once a week I promise myself I'll never listen to it again, and yet...

Thanks for the tip on Commanding Heights. I'll check it out.

LOL, yes some days I just have to turn it off before my blood boils.

Little Abigail (after Abigail Adams, LOL) is doing great!

The Commanding Heights is a hell of a thing. We watched a good part of it in my Political Science class last fall. Many of the younger students found it dull and texted on their phones for most of it, but I found it fascinating! It really showed why protectionism and socialism always fail and the power of the free market. I wish more people would watch it, it's probably the best non-science program wgbh has ever done.
