New Showtime series "Lock 'N Load"

I just ran across an ad for this show, supposed to premier Oct. 21 on Showtime. Apparently it's a reality TV show about some guy working in a Denver gun shop (I think it's called The Shootist) and the customers coming in to buy firearms.

There are some clips available for screening on Showtime's website and a brief synopsis of the show. Anybody know anything about it?

I don't have Showtime so I guess I'll have to wait for somebody else to watch it tomorrow night and post a review.

Unless Showtime has had some monumental change in their politics when it comes to guns, this show will not be favorable to the industry or gun owners.

I plan on giving it a look.

Sorta looks like "pawn stars" but in a gun shop.

I think it goes without saying that only the most "colorful" customers will get screen time. I just hope it's fair. I just better not see any "True Tales of the FFL" plot lines.

Penn and Teller are extremely pro-gun and their show Bullshit! is on Showtime.

Logic, reason and impartiality have no place on an internet forum discussion.

Based off of the previews, it will not result in a more positive view of gun owners.

Well I'll weigh in on this since the Shootist is right down the road from my house and I frequently fire at their indoor pistol range. I have never purchased anything other than range time and ammunition form them though...that said...

It is one of the smallest (and grungiest) shops in Colorado. Why they chose it I have no clue. One of the nicest (though not friendliest) shops in the state is right down the road and probably would have been much more suited for TV. Not to mention that the family that owns and operates The Shootist are...how to put this lightly...probably not exactly the type of people you would want to put on national TV to forward your cause. Just saying...

Still though from what I have seen and heard from them I don't believe it is going to be a necessarily anti-gun show. I was told that many of the people on the film crew were gun owners and enjoy the sport themselves. I think it will be nothing like the 20/20 hit piece we saw last year.

We shall see, it's on tomorrow night.
