Redi Mags...do they scratch up your lower?

Just curious? Also thinking about getting a Magpul B.A.D. lever system to go with it...if I can ever find anyone that has one in stock...LOL

They seem to make good sense to me atleast.

    Thanks in advance.

No. It comes with a little rubber ring that goes around the magwell.

Don't worry about scratching your rifle. Eugene Stoner designed the weapon so that little scratches on the outside of the receiver do not affect its functionality.

LOL...I know, I know...scratchs aren't bad. If it was a battle rifle that has seen battle I'm sure I would love the rash...I just try to keep my stuff nice and take care of things...

Does that rubber deal move around at all? I have tried looking at pics but can't really see it. Is it cut to match up with the redi mag mount, or does it slip over the entire mag well?

    Thanks again for you help.

It's cut to fit, and its pretty tight under the redi-mag if the redi-mag is on properly.

Thanks for those of you who have been overly nice and willing to help a new guy. I have read on this site for a while now and just started to post. I did a search but did not find that specific answer to my question.

I guess I'll take my "new guy" questions to the manufacturers which usually takes forever to get answers...over-n-out!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks again

I think your speed reloads and maybe banging the mag home will do more cosmetic damage. To me its more important to train as you fight than worry about scratching it up. IF its a huge issue get one training rifle and one pretty one.

Travis Haley scratched up my brand new, once-used Larue Tactical lower receiver in my recent carbine class. I just look at it like he autographed it and gave it some more character

Seriously though, it doesn't take long for my ARs to look well used, because they are just that. I obviously wouldn't want a mint-condition M1 Garand, or similar historical collector's rifle that is in pristine condition, to be abused and get all scratched and dinged up. But these ARs are meant to be used and abused and ran hard as hell. I don't care how much I pay for the best, most high quality AR I have, I will run it hard and train with it in different conditions (within my certain physical restrictions).

I think we all start off caring about not scratching and dinging up our guns, but eventually we stop giving a shit and focus on the important things (that's how I was anyways). It's sort of like a brand new truck: once you get that first nasty scratch in the nicely painted bed of the truck, you just start throwing shit back there and dragging it out of there without a care in the world except the task at hand.

    Semper Fi,

    Paul

Hey Paul, does your BAD lever touch the lower receiver when locking the bolt back?
    Peace, Jerry
