SKD Just announced it Aimpoint Micro T-1 (2 MOA) + FREE DD MICRO MOUNT *PRE-ORDER*
http://www.skdtac.com/Aimpoint-Micro...-p/aim.312.htm
Just saw this as well. I was about to pick up a T-1 for the latest build but went with the X300 first, glad I waited! I prefer the 2 MOA over the 4 so I will definitely be waiting for this. Not big on the DD mount, hopefully LaRue will have a package deal like they do with the current T-1...
Hooray, I was needing to pick up a used T-1 3.4MOA dot unit on the cheap. Now the market will be flooded with these 'inferior' models, which honestly I prefer to the 2MOA aimpoints I have.

I wish Aimpoint would make a 2MOA. The 4MOA is really the main reason I am not purchasing a T1.
It sounds like you didn't click on the link above, or see any of the other two or three threads going on this very topic right now. They ARE making a 2 MOA T-1.

Anyone else offering the T-1 2moa besides SKD? G&R? Thanks in advance.
4moa works fine for me....no issues taking down poppers 300yds and in. Seems to me the trade off with the 2moa dot is on the CQB side where the 4moa dot is easier for my eye to find when doing quick target transitions.
There really is not downside to the smaller dot. Just crank up the intensity for closer range and the blooming acts like a larger dot. However you can't turn down a 4moa do to a 2 moa one. Also poppers are huge. try hitting a partial target at 300 yards like a threat only presenting his head and rifle to you. One reason why I only prefer red dots for CQB type work at 100 yards and in and generally as a back up optic to a good variable power scope.

I don't like having to fiddle around with the dot brightness though I understand what you are saying. Partial shots like you described can be done as well. Course I practice shooting at smaller targets at that range. We run a local match that's all irons shooting at 7"x13" targets which aren't that far off from the dimensions of a head. We shoot those at 200/300yds. Like someone said earlier you use the cross edge of your dot since it shouldn't be covering the target anyways....unless you are sighted in at that given range. Most folks I know use either a 50yd, 100yd, or 200yd zero so there would be a small amount of holdover required. When I shoot my 11.5" at 300yds my poa is bottom of my dot.
Yes variable optics make like much easier.
