I own a couple of each and while they are both good choices I definitely prefer the KAC.

KAC. Received mine today and am quite impressed with this little thing. Notably how solid it feels despite it's very small size.

I don't have it at hand at the moment and am in noway knowledgable in materials but I will say "it felt like it." Having used KAC products while on active duty and nowadays in law enforcement I have never had an issue nor been given any reason to question their product's durability and reliability. With this new BUIS, I don't foresee that changing.

I doubt anyone would have problems with Troy returning anything that breaks. The first one fell apart, the second one won't extend up into a usable position, it grinds to a stop around the halfway mark.

Like I said, I've got Murphy riding my back when it comes to dealing with equipment, I tend to break a lot of things.

Why are people so worried about flipping back and forth between apertures? If you need to take that longer distance shot then you probably have time to flip between the apertures.

If time is so crucial that flipping between the small and large will get you killed, then why are you bothering to in the first place?

From the looks of it, the whole thing is MIM'd except for the claw and pinch bolt. I wonder if members will start hating on the KAC 600m rear sight like they took to LMT for their gas key?

As a training tool the Troy would be closer to the A2 sight that your son would be learning on in the Corps.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but this is going to be an iron sighted only gun correct?

What's wrong with a good old A2 carrying handle?
