    Zeus,

I am sure we have broken a few gun safety rules in our lives, to protect the lives of others. It is too bad that the best part of a rifle to hit someone with is the same end the bullets come out.

The Levang may work, but it doesn't have the intimidation factor that the pig has when you point it at someone unless they are allergic to swiss cheese.

+1 to the intimidation factor of the pig. I was one of the first on my team to get one and the first time we did a hostage rescue drill one of the aggressors biotched at me for using a "non authorized weapon". Huh? you say? So did I.

He thought I was lugging a full auto 10 guage shotgun for pete's sake.

Since then I've been on the receiving end of simunition fire through a pig and the focused flash and noise is incredible! I can see how the guy thought I was using a goose gun!

Barring you already saying the pig was you first choice. Some say it does everything the pig does without the weight penalty.

I ran one in 2002 on a Patrol Rifle. Doesn't do much for reducing muzzle flip or reducing flash, but it does a good job at directing the noise and blast down range away from the shooter.

When not using ear pro you could definately tell a difference between the Levang and an A2. The Levang equiped gun lacked the loud crack you often experience when shooting 5.56 without ear pro.

Considering the price, size, weight, and performance of the Levang, if you are wanting a muzzle devise that directs the noise, gases, and muzzle blast away from the shooter, I would highly recommend it. Only down side to the Levang is, it lacks the "sexyness" of the KX3.

I agree with iraqninja this thing is tits when shooting out of cars or any inclosed firing around your mates. They will thank you if your firing stacked up. FYI you will scare the shit out of them if your shooting while they are down range of you.(out of your line of fire)

Iv never had the pleasure of having a mate with one but I have received compliments on mine.

Thanks for thew replies guys... I liked the Levang for cost/weight. However, seems the consensus is that the Pig is worth the weight/cost penalty. I esp liked Iraq Ninja's take on the "usefulness" of "checking" those who are not smart enough to move at the sight of a SBR in and of it's self.
Remember, the Founding Fathers reason for the 2nd Amendment... to combat tyranny. Sadly, when people discuss the 2nd Amendment, the opponents erroneously think it was meant to stand alone... it HAS a preamble:

"...But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..."

out of curiosity would it make it more obvious where you are shooting from? I have one on my 16" and love it, I just wish I had a shorter barrel
