    I did it!

Yes guys, I did the ultimate sacrifice and order a pair to test. Got them a week ago and since did not had the chance to field test them. My impression so far is that they are too nice to be used in the bush and the material feels soft and not sure how durable. They will be perfect if you go for a short walk, but will not trust them in the wild (personal opinion)... Design is cool, lots of pockets all around and the waist fit is very comfortable. The UK length is different from the US I guess as I order regular length and they are like super long for me (more than 4" longer compared to the Regular ACU bottom). The Bear Grylls logos are almost invisible (on on the side pocket and one on the back)...

    extra length

I just found out why the trousers are longer than usual. I have the 34 Regular but the length is 4" extra, and that bothered me in the beginning. After a little reading I found out that they are designed the extra length to go deep down your boots... and prevent dust or debris from entering your boot. Interesting feature and actually I am planing on testing it very soon... Will keep you posted.

I cannot comment on the Bear Grylls line. But I can speak for the traditional Craghoppers clothing. It is top notch stuff. I am a real fan of their button up long sleeve shirts. They work in just about all weather conditions and are very rugged.

I've been using these http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/c...ure=product_3#since xmas and really happy with them. Possible downside would be their weight when wet. Other then that...i'll be buying another pair that is a bit lighter weight, with the reinforced knees.

Got an update on these pants. I recently bought two of them. Material, construction, and fit are great, but then again they are from Craghoppers. I got them on sale for $70, but they are back up to $90 now.

The stretch panels work nicely. I ordered one size larger than normal because I like my pants baggy. Based on this, I suspect my normal size might have been a bit too tight.

This past weekend the pants were worn during a camping trip that included a big Texas thunder storm. Pants were soaked but remained comfortable. They were dry enough at night to sleep in them. In hot humid weather, I go "Ranger" when outdoors and leave the underwear at home. No issues with this.

I found them more comfortable than other well known pants that cost a lot more. I will be bringing them back with me to Iraq, and will report on how they do in extreme heat.

FYI, the NosiLife anti insect treatment worked well and the cloth seems to be mosquito bite proof. I did a lot of walking through thorns and brush and had no issues. The pants look like they are brand new.

I have a pair of these. I love them. I wear them whan I go shooting and when I am on the jod as an EMT. They are a bit pricy at $160.00 but they are very durable and have more pockets than I know what to do with and they have pals/molle on one side for my holser or fisrt in pouch when Im on the job. I thought they were a bit wide in the cuff when I got them so I had the cuff narrowed to meet My Uncle Sam provided ACU's now the blouse nicely. The only draw back is they only come in these two colors.
The jackets are nise as well I have a MK1

While we're on the subject of Craghoppers, anyone know anything about, or have an opinion on, their convertible pants? It appears the only difference is that the Kiwi is the basic while the NosiLife has bug repellent?
