    Vltor VIS

Did a search but did not find the results I was looking for so I thought Id ask.
Are there any reviews on the Middy length VIS? Photos of those who have them?
I dont see them much and was curious as to how well they performed and stood up to punishment.
Any advantages over to the MRP or simply installing a rail like the DD lite rail which essentially gives you the same idea of a connected top?

The VIS is a fantastic system. You won't see many pics of them as they tend to be rare.

The VIS gives you a lot rigidity and ease of mounting optics (especially if you want them in the dead center of the weapon).

I'm happy with mine, but don't have enough rounds down range to say hard use yet. Since it's a Noveske though I'm sure it's tougher then I am.

She came in at 10.4 lbs as pictured. and yes the mount is dead center.

I always wanted a VIS for at 12.5 SBR but could never find one so I got a MUR instead and will use a DD Lite Rail.

I'd love to pick up a VIS but MAN they're expensive! Heck, if middy isn't a requirement it'd cheaper to get a 6940 upper.

main advantage over the MRP is that you can use the barrel of YOUR choice, not LMT's

I am waiting for the VIS-2A. What lower best matches the VIS, fit and finish wise?

I like my VIS-2. It's not a QD sort of system like some others, but it's a hell of a lot easier to assemble into an upper than a regular upper.

Every once and a while I suddenly remember that I can put an optic where ever I want; it's easy to forget.

They're not really out of line, price wise, if you compare them to a billet upper and high quality FF rail.
