That was one of the reasons I selected the VIS over a LMT. The LMT would have actualy been cheaper then the Noveske.

the -2 and -2A differ in length by an inch. the 2 is the midlength (9" handguard) and 2A is the extended midlength (10"). -1 is carbine (7") and -3 is rifle (12").

Going back to my question, which lower best matches the VIS in fit and finish? Thanks.

On the new forged VIS uppers I would say I decent forged lower, they will have a more matte finish than most billet lowers

I love my VIS upper but it hasn't gotten anywhere near the use of my Colt so maybe I baby it too much. In retrospect I would have dedicated it as an SPR with a stainless Noveske barrel instead of the N4 barrel I did chose.

Does anyone have the weights for a plain upper receiver plus rail? I'm curious how the VIS compares to an upper+rail...

I don't have the exact figures, but IIRC I asked that question before and the answer I got was that length being equal, the VIS was slightly lighter since it didn't have all the attaching hardware.

I'm a big fan of the VIS, with my favorite being the 2A on a 16" barrel.
