    What MOA Dot for Aimpoint

I am planning on taking some Carbine courses in the coming year.

So far all my rifles and rifle shooting has been with irons. I am a regular CMP shooter with both the Garand and AR.

I want to be able to effectively use my Carbine for HD.

I will be buying an M4-style. Hopefully a Colt 6940.
I plan on putting on an Aimpoint.

Those I know who have experiance with these suggested this setup.

I have the oppertunity to buy a month old barely used Aimpoint M4s with 2MOA dot on a Larue mount for $650. I want to take the deal, but Im not sure if I dont want to get a 4MOA dot.

I'm increasingly of the belief that in an RDS, I have little need for anything but my T1s (on LT 660 mounts). Light weight, size efficient. That being said, the Comp M4S is just fine too.

I tend to favor 2MOA dots. I wouldn't throw out a 4. The T1 is a compromise in that way.

Read that again and thought others might take it as a negative. Only an observation that the T1 splits the difference nicely.

For me the decision is still a work in progress, but right now my N4 Carbine 14.5 BBL is for closer work and when I held an M4s in one hand and a T1 in the other...for this rifle I couldn't think of what advantage M4s/2MOA was going to give me over the size and wt savings the T1(4MOA) would give. The M4s is a Rottweiler and the T1 is a Jack Russell Terrier in sz/wt comparison

I figured I have a shotgun that wants a T1 someday, so if the N4 doesn't like it the 870 will and then I'll get the M4s and will have lived and learned.

My T1 started out yesterday in Austin then to Dallas, then to Ft.Worth and is now in Kentucky and will be here tomorrow It is coming from Santa LaRue

this will be my first real optic on a serious use gun.

The T1 looks nice. Do you use the built in mount or put it on a riser? its tiny

If you are not running NV, get the H-1.

You will need a riser for certain in order to co-witness.

I found the H-1 package deal on your site Grant. Looks good.

is there any advatage for me of having the M4s over the H-1 ?

no, no NV. strickly for HD civi application and training.

The M4S is NV compatible. So there really isn't any need for it.
