Short 9mm Side Charger

Just wanted to show off a little...

Specs:
Rock River 9mm factory lower
Ameetec side charging upper
5.5" Tros 3 lug

She runs great.

I want a side cocker too. How do you like it? I want to make up a 9mm, like yours. I would also like a side cocking 22 upper. Thanks for the pic!

It works great for the most part. The only two things; if you have locked the bolt back manually, then go to release it you need to watch your thumb, the handle might catch it. When doing a mag change this is a non issue, the handle will already be locked forward. You have to make sure you push the bolt catch all of the way in to make sure it catches the bolt.

You get a little taste of gas every now and then , I think it leaks out of the block in the reciever, no biggie.

The size handles like a dream, but I need to upgrade the grip.

I have been wanting to build a side charger also. Side charge is one of the top reasons I prefer the ak. I'd love to have a side charge on my varmint rig.

Those 9mm ar's are sexy.
