    I doubt it.

Any rifle whose major components are made of 6061 aluminum isn't a serious combat weapon.

Any outfit that manufactures combat weapons of this material is specifically designing in planned obsolescence -- kinda like how GM dug its own hole.

Curious about what you said. Please put it into laymans terms. Is 6065 aluminum weaker?

    I see a 6061 and a 6063 but no 6065. 7075 seems to be the strongest.

    Whoops. Fat fingers. Corrected.

Guess which is used on MILSPEC and most commercial upper and lower receivers?

If the SCAR is here to stay, perhaps FN can afford enough spray paint to paint more than half of the mags they include with each SCAR?

FWIW even the steel mags of the real SCARs are only painted on the part of the mag that sticks out of the lower receiver.

I am not sure what the SCAR-L offers that an MRP (piston, if you have to have it) doesn't do just as well. I still want one, but I know it's unreasonable.

The SCAR-H, on the other hand...I handled one at SHOT. I want one, bad.

Can someone from FN explain why they aren't selling the -H to civilians? It would spank any of the other 7.62s available to us now, and I bet they would sell a shitload of them.

I was told that the Heavy should be released next year on the civilian market...

The SCAR-H is supposed to be released in civilian form in '10.
