Which Magpul Trigger Guard? -- UPDATE: Got Gapper (pics)

I'm getting one of these, partly to accommodate gloves, etc. -- and because they look cool -- but mostly to cover that annoying gap at the back end toward the pistol grip. Rubbing across the top of the middle figure while pivoting the gun during various movements (like switching shoulders) is distracting. I'd rather replace the entire trigger guard than stick one of those little rubber plugs into the gap.

I see some difference between the two trigger guards by Magpul. Here is their web-site photo of the aluminum "enhanced" model. I think these are both supposed to be the same item, but they look different to me, with the one to the rear providing a smoother and more flush fit over the gap. The raised edges on the one in front would probably dig into the finger nearly as bad as the gap does. Are there two versions of this item, or am I missing something?

And here is the plastic MOE trigger guard. The available FDE would look cool next to my FDE pistol grip and Pmags, but coverage of the gap looks even less effective. The end of the trigger guard plunges into the gap, leaving some of those diggie edges uncovered.

I'm just asking here for anybody owning either of Magpul's tirgger guards, and what experience you've had with them, specifically in covering the gap.

Get the MOE Magpul triggerguard. It's half the price of the metal one and it's lighter.

I noticed the price difference, but I don't mind paying more to cover that pesky gap.

+1 on the MOE. Have both and don't notice the difference...just the price.

Go with the MOE. For the price you can't beat it...

I have one of the originals and several of the MOES, they all feel the same to me. As a matter of fact I pulled the original out and replaced it with a MOE - I'm saving the original for a "high class" build.

    I'll deviate.

I find the MOE to be almost totally useless because it doesn't fully cover the gap. the whole reason to go with one of these is to cover the gap, and if it doesn't do that....

buying today? I'd still just buy the $3 Gapper. I find the metal Magpul trigger guard to do what it should but be too expensive for what it is, and the MOE to be more affordable but not accomplish the stated task. I have several examples of each, and my opinion is based on using those samples.

Hmm....seems to be some concensus in favor of the MOE. Maybe those photos are just screwy.

    On the other hand.....

Maybe I'll just hold off and throw in a gapper with my next Brownells order.

Traded out all my aluminum guards for the MOE's after getting one....lighter....cheaper....easy to install.....and they come in all the colors of the tactical rainbow.

It does look mighty good having all FDE on my Colt Commando.

The MOE guards cover just as much area as the aluminum. I haven't noticed difference.

Get the MIAD Full grip with the trigger guard attached to the front strap.
That is the one in the photo that has no gap.
