I'm building a carbine with a DD 10.3" barrel and Colt M16 BCG and will be firing 55gr and 62gr ammo. Should I use an H2 or H3 buffer?
Thanks,
Dustin

I'm running an H1 buffer in my 10.5 LMT. Runs great.
I use an H2 in my 10.5" LMT MRP.
I have an 11.5 and had to use an H2 in order for my bolt to lock back everytime.

The 10.5 guns I have the most experience on are Colt or Diemaco.
They run fantastically on H2 buffers.
I have run them for 2,000 rounds without cleaning, experiencing 0 gun-related stoppages.
I'll probably go H2 then. If an H3 is too heavy, will I have failures to strip a round out of the mag, failures to feed, failures to lock the bolt back, etc.? I don't want to spend the money on an H3 to try and then have no use for it (I can't think of any other application I could use it in).

I'd recommend an H for unsuppressed use (5.56mm NATO or .223 pressure ammo).
A H2 for 5.56mm NATO pressure unsuppressed use / .223 pressure amm suppressed use.
And a H3 for 5.56mm NATO pressure ammo use suppressed.

H2 and as GotM4 said, H3 for suppressed use.

I will most likely get a M4 QD for this rifle in the future. Would it be better to use the H2 or H3 since I will be shooting it with and without? Should I get both and switch them out? All I currently have are regular carbine and H buffers.
