The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.
It's that simple.
Hmmm... sounds vaguely familiar.
Also note that the people wandering around in stores and coffee shops with rifles a) don't have them loaded and b) likely have no ammo on them whatsoever. They might as well be carrying a metal stick.
It seems like the Swiss concept of arming everyone is much more of a "collective good" concept than the American 2nd Amendment, which has both individual purposes and "collective" defense purposes. The Swiss seem to view it more as a civic duty tied to serving the government in case of need.
They seem like such a sane bunch. What are we doing wrong here?
Never mind, now that I think about it there is a laundry list. And it started with rampant immigration of the wrong kind of people.
