Mrs JAYTEAM bought her first pistol today

It was only a little Walther P22, but she picked it out herself. We have been married for almost ten years, and she is just now showing interest in shooting. She is so proud of that little thing. She informed me I am taking her shooting next Saturday. She has never done that before. This could be a really good thing for me.

Pic of Mrs Jayteam added. I'll try to get a picture of her with it on Saturday.

My $.02 make sure you take the time to truely train her on the use of the firearm, always remember to keep your cool, and make the shooting trip enjoyable for both of you! If at all possible, sit down the night before and go over weapons safety, and use of the equipment you will be bringing with you!

I am glad to hear your wife want's to get involved, mine still hasn't after ten years!
    Better known as "The CAC"!

"One is no more armed because he has possession of a firearm than he is a musician because he owns a piano. There is no point in having a gun if you are not capable of using it skillfully."

Definately, I gave her a little class on the function of the weapon last night. There will be a quick refresher course Friday night and a range safety class Saturday morning. We will work on stance, grip, and sight picture for a little while. I bought her a 500 round brick yesterday, so she should get to shoot as much as she wants. Hopefully, this is the start of something big.

    Thumbs up Congrats

    Congrats to you, Jay.
I know it makes shooting "nicer" (if you will) when the wife is on board with you. We picked up the wife her own 9mm last year but she rarely travels to the range with me. She does seem understand my love of shooting & never has given me any grief about range trips or weapons purchases ... so far . We should all feel pretty lucky when our wives make a weapons purchase.

    Very cool.

I really enjoy shooting with my husband (C4IGrant). When I first met Grant, I did not like, own, or expect to ever shoot a gun.....

Now I own a gun-shop, have more than a few guns in my name, and look forward to time on the range with my husband. (even had my CCW in VA, yet to get it OH)

I find more often than not, men like to share their shooting hobby with their wives. And when wives take an interest, the lines of communication open so men don't have to lie (omit) information on purchases.

She had never even held a gun, let alone fire one before she met me. Her father is an anti gun, flaming liberal psychiatrist. Needless to say he hates me, my guns, and considers the years I spent in the military as wasted. Adding her as a shooter is a major coupe for the Pro 2A crowd. It has taken me a decade to erase her dad's brainwashing, but it was all worth it.
