Apparently, gun-friendly news articles are NOT on the upswing.

What a bunch of crap. Too many half-truths and distortions to mention - especially regarding TN laws.

All I had to read was the title on MSN to know that this article is nearly total propaganda. The subtext? "We" have got to DO something about these "looser" gun laws.

They are right in one general sense: that there have been some victories for gun rights over the last couple of years. But these are small victories relative to the amount of freedom that's been lost over the last 100 years, and spinning this small change as a trend toward "loosening of gun laws" is both absurd and inaccurate. We have a LONG way to go just to get back to the "break even" point, to restore even the basic, fundamental gun rights that our Founders intended.

Quote: A Violence Policy Center project has mined news reports to find that more than 100 people have been killed by holders of handgun-carry permits since 2007, including nine law enforcement officers. The project originally intended to list all gun crimes by permit holders, but there were too many to keep track of, Rand said.

"They shoot each other over parking spaces, at football games and at family events," Rand said. "The idea that you're making any place safer by injecting more guns is just completely contradicted by the facts."

Yeah, that's BS Nobody is going to go to all of the trouble of getting a Concealed Carry Permit and then throw it away by doing something so irresponsible. Propaganda/lies like this really burn me up!
