No offense, but I really don't see any point to not lubricating a weapon on a regular basis.
If you treated your car that way people would laugh at you or assume you were a woman.

I've carried a 26 for 8 years as a BUG at work. Originally I had the horrible NY2 spring in it (dept policy) and hated shooting the gun. When policy changed, I dropped a - connector and 5# spring in the gun and it became much more shootable. While I like to shoot it; I still prefer a 19 if forced to shoot a Glock.

Looking forward to seeing this one play out. I too used my 26 only for summer carry, but it has turned into my year rounder and the 19 only gets a little range time now and again.
I acutally had my first failure with my 26 at the range yesterday! It failed to feed completly using 115 gr wwb ammo. Tapped the rear of the slide and it went into battery and was able to finish the mag w/o issue. I may have limp wristed it a touch as I was at the tail end of a pretty long string of semi rapid fire
Not to hi-jack any further, but speaking of the Glock 26.... I have had several stoppages as of late with the gun. Not its fault, but mine. Somehow my support hand (left hand) is engaging the slide stop lever up durring rapid fire. Really annoying as it just started happening after thousands and thousands or trouble free rounds down range. Must be in my grip or perhaps not keeping my wrists locked out enough. Thoughts???
Anyway, looking forward the the evolving reports as the year goes by for one sweet little shootin pistol!

Drew are you running the extended slide stop lever?
No I am not, wish it were that easy! Eveything is stock except the sights.
Seems like the "fatty" part of the base of my thumb, where it ties into my palm/hand rides up on it enough to push it up.
I was acutally thinking about removing it from the frame and "griding" it down so it is thinner from top to bottom. I dont want to go overboard b/c I fear that when it is locked into the slide on hold back, when it disengages, it could bind up on the top of the frame. My thinking is that once I modified it, it wouldnt be overlapping the top of the frame.
I couldnt have been more shocked when it happend, then again and again...
It really is a ball buster....
drew,
a few things can be happening . your recoil spring could be weak, the meat of your thumb can be pushing up on the slide release. i on the other hnad ran extened slide stops for awhile and all was good till my grip changed and the slide started locking open in the middle of a string of fire, i trashed a few mags thinking the mags were bad but found the problem was the extended slide release. what happened was i would push up on it during a string of fire causing the slide to lock open in mid string. hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I am running a very high tech inner tube on my grip already. Better imo than grip tape.
I may modify my grip as follows:
Support hand (left hand), middle finger tucked in between right hand tigger and middle finger. Almost like anchoring my support finger to the grip. Hard to explain. That and I need to man up and regain my grip and focus!

Edit: I just replaced my recoil assmb with a new one about a month ago. Never had this issue with my orig spring. Hmmmm.... Possibly have a bum spring I guess.

Sounds great.
I’ve been planning on buying a G26 this year so I will be following this thread very closely.

Also looking forward to it. Been carrying a 26 in an ankle rig as a BUG for many years.
Rotated it to my primary since Ben has got the 19 for some work, this should be good.
