And for future Christmases you can give him gear that will work for him when he gets his 5.56mm carbine.

    Ammo for birthdays.

That's the nice thing about NV, the concealed carry law only applies to concealed on your person, not a vehicle. You can have a loaded handgun anywhere in your vehicle, as long as its not on you. You can't have a "loaded" rifle in your vehicle, but NV's definition of loaded is a round in the chamber. So you can have a shotgun in your trunk with a full tube, as long as the chamber is empty. Same for an AR, mag inserted, chamber empty.

Anyway, back to the guns. My boss's 10 yr old also shot my Walther P22 pistol very well, although he prefers his dad's Sig P220.

Santa brought my kid a Marlin model 60. Her big sister is a little jealous.

We got the boy a Ruger 10/22 compact for his 11th birthday. Shorter barrel, fiber-optic sights, and overall lighter weight. I do wish that the grip was a little smaller as his hand doesn't really reach right.

He's enjoyed the hell out of it, and our IDPA club has had two .22 matches that he's done very well in with his rifle.
