Avatars?

I wanted to see how a new avatar would look, so i tried it out, didn't like it, so i put my original pic back up- but now it's less than half the original size.. i'm using the exact same pic. i tried to change shape, disk space size, zoom, pixels, upload vs. link... nothing gets it back up to regular size

did policy on new avatar sizes change? the size it's giving me now is so small you can't tell if you're looking at Hank or a hot apple pie.
