I bought a 1/8" pin punch online from a link I found on the M&P forum and started pounding away at the 1/8" pin. I could only get it about half way out and it wont budge. I hammered away at the thing for an hour and no had luck. Thinking maybe its the 1/8" punch that is to big, i go to Lowe's and buy a pin punch set and a large rubber mallet. Thinking I'm good, I go home and start hammering away with the new pin punch and mallet and it still wont budge. Then the new pin punch breaks by the base.....I try the old punch again and it just starts to bend.....I cant get that stupid 1/8" pin to budge....I've hammered it in both directs, it gets about the same length out (less than half the pin) and it won't go any further...Is this normal??? I've dinged my frame in several places and have drawn blood a couple of times and am just pissed. This was suppose to be an easy job and I can't even get a fricken pin out...
It should not require that amount of force/effort to remove the sear housing pin. PM me with your contact info and I will contact you in the morning. We should be able to help.

So does the action enhancement kit take the grittyness out of the first stage of the stock trigger?

yes. Huge difference in smoothness from installing the Apex plunger block. Its money well spent.

Yes, the kit eliminates the grittyness and for me, it makes the M&P my favorite all around platform.

I should have the first 10 of the production run extractors tomorrow. Once I check their dimensions the production run will begin immediately.

I had a chance to test fire my new M&P Pro this afternoon, and the ejection pattern is sporadic to say the least...

I will a few of the proof extractors available as soon as the dimensions and heat treat tests are done. The rest of the production run should be ready next week.

The Apex extractor corrected the extraction problems that my M&P9 was experiencing. With the factory extractor it seemed to have a failure to extract every few hundred rounds with a variety of ammo. It was always the same--a failure to extract with just the rim of the case out of the chamber.

I've fired 1600+ rounds since having the extractor swapped for the new Apex one and not had one problem.

Any idea of when you'll have the APEX 45 Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kits in stock?

    can't wait

I've got 2 M&P9 pistols now. Both have had extraction issues - every 2-300 rds, partial extraction. Very frustrating to have the same problem, 2 guns in a row. S&W was great about taking it back to fix the problem, but it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

The 45 sears just finished heat treat. We should have them available in about a day.
