I'm hitting the Apex site like a lab rat looking for a cocaine pellet.
I just sold my 9mm compact to a buddy, and this just makes me want to speed up the process to get my .45. I suppose the sear kit will be faster to get, "afford", than the gun, but reading everyone's post wants to make me forgo the AR project I've got and move the money over to my M&P project.
I will be picking up a batch od 45 sears this evening, so we should have them up on the store tomorrow.
If you cannot wait, contact Lisa at guns@apextactical.com and she will help processa pre-order for a 45 DCAEK.
This first batch to come back from heat treat is kinda small, so I think there will only be 30-40 45 kits available. The run we are expecting next week will be substantially larger.

Just wondering, but has anyone tried the Apex sear with a Mass. trigger spring? I have the Apex trigger spring in the gun and it just feels too light for any kind of carry/serious use. I dont have a trigger pull gauge but it feels alittle over 5lbs. What kind of trigger pull would I get from an Apex sear with a Mass. trigger spring?

I picked up a DCAEK from G&R and installed it in a brand spanking new M&P9 I just acquired at a steal of 470 including shipping and xfer.
I picked up the pistol on Friday from the FFL. He examined the pistol and bad mouthed the stock trigger, then had me handle a competition G17 of his … and kinda gloated about it for a bit. I just gave him that blank look. He's a Glock Armorer. It was nice, though
I think he was just generally unfamiliar with the M&P. "It's just an updated Sigma." And, "I've never actually worked on one before."
I showed him the Apex kit … "tiny little spring", "Apex Tactical, huh? Who are they?", "Is that the sear …"
Was quoted about a week to get it done and $50. I figured since I was as familiar with it as him that I'd give it a pass. I declined and left after pleasantries.
At home on my dining table (and work mat) I had the DCAEK in within about 60. Worst part was the rear site. Made me a little nervous but it finally started to move.
Went together easy enough, used a sacrificial chopstick to cut a temp trigger pivot pin. The taper made the threading easy. +1 for domestic ingenuity.
Once completed the difference was a lot more prominent than I had anticipated.
Smooth take up, no grit, not 'springy'.
Reset is FANTASTIC. Smooth, crisp and defined.
It IS NOT a competition trigger to the degree I've seen before … but that isn't what it is supposed to be.
The coin was WELL worth it.
Thanks, Apex.
We have found a really easy way to install the trigger return spring. Push out trigger pin JUST enough to get the factory spring to release (so that the pin is still retaining the trigger). Remove the factory spring with needle nose plyers. Attach the new spring to the trigger bar and then push it back into the trigger area. Using a small punch (one with a smaller head than the trigger pin), push it through the loop in the spring (retaining it). Tilt the punch upward causing the spring to lengthen. Slide the trigger pin forward and through the rest of the trigger (might have to lightly tap it with a hammer to get it to go through).
Doing it this way, you do not have to remove the locking block pin, locking block or the slide stop.

I'm just waiting for the 45 kits to come in stock. I've been checking the website, but no luck yet!
We have them in stock!
