    MI 12" FF rail

Ok, Im hoping to finish my first 5.56 AR early next week and I have a few questions. I am getting a BCM/Novekse upper from Grant and I was gonna get a DD Lite Rail, 12.0", but the fiances company decided that she didnt work enough OT to give her a bonus, and I was wondering what the thoughts are on the MI 12" free float rails.

I dont want to spent the money on the MI wanting the DD, and have essentially a part that isnt what I want, but the more I read, the more it seems like the MI is a great product to the point that I wont miss the DD.

    Any thoughts?

If you can go to a shop and hold both, then your decision will be a made; Daniel Defense.

But seriously, the build quality, weight and craftsmanship of the DD Lite is unbelievable. Definitely worth the extra bucks.

I just put a T-12 on my three-gun AR and was rather impressed with it. The T-12 fit and finish were great with installation being a breeze. I am so happy with it that another MI is soon to be ordered for my BCM. I seriously contemplated the DD, I mean to the point that it was in my Bravo Company shopping cart but couldn't justify the price at this time. I did have my heart set on the DD but am glad that the tight ass inside of me spoke up so that I could find this little gem... Here's a pic of my RRA Predator Pursuit and am waiting for are the MOE Plus grips, if they ever are released:

here is my first build using the MI-T12, or whatever the model #. though i have little to no experience with AR parts and accessories before this, i feel that this handguard is very sturdy, well built and pretty light. i thought i read in another thread that it is less than 2 oz heavier than the comparable DD rail...someone correct me if i'm wrong. since this is not a duty weapon, i will not be carrying it for long periods of time, which justified the extra weight/lower price for me.
hope this helps with your decision.

Bcm is shipping me a MI t-12 as we speek. Hopefully I will receive it tomorrow. I will get pics up as soon as its on.

I couldn't justify the price of the DD or the Larue's. While we all know they are sweet..

Most of us are not jumping out of airplanes or rising up out of swamps with guns drawn in the middle of the night halfway around the globe on special ops missions, lol. So we must ask ourselves "do we really need the VERY best there is"? or can we do with something that is VERY adequate for our uses.
