There are also a couple of threads concerning the PT1911 over at Lightfighter. The reception for the PT1911 was a bit warmer over there than at the 1911 forums. Still, I have no use for a 1911. I thought they were they only thing going for 30 years and then I got talked into buying a Glock. I'll never go back. The 1911 is too expensive for what you get. There are better designs for the .45 ACP on the market that give you far greater value for your dollar and every bit the accuracy and reliability of a custom 1911. If you want something that's chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge, I'd go with a M&P.

I've shot one and really liked it. For the money, it's a great deal. The front strap is a little square and "blocky" compared to some other 1911 clones, but that's a personal preference issue.

Bought one about 6 months ago. 200 rounds of Winchester USA 230gr ball and 200 rounds of 230 JHP's later it's had a total of 1 jam, which was definitely due to a bad round. The spent case, which was a former carry round in a different gun, went a total of 3 feet when ejected, and the next round fed when I shoved the slide forward.
P.S. If you have multiple guns, make sure you change your carry ammo in all of them and don't leave one loaded for a year and a half before you do.
