Put your money into ammo and training instead of a new optic.
If SHTF and your battery dies, use the optic as a giant ghost ring. Then, behind cover, replace your dead battery with the spare in your Aimpoint double battery module and continue SHTF OPS. Please check your PM.

FJB posted the following on M4C:
To clarify things regarding battery life, stated life is based on the use of quality batteries that are new and operated at ambient temperature conditions below 100 degrees, most often 70 degrees. If used in temperature conditions above 100 for prolonged periods of time then your battery life will be reduced. Still battery life will still be measured in years or months not weeks, days, or hours like all other competitor sights.
CompM2 10,000 hours on setting 7 (8760 hours in a year - 24 X 365)
CompM3 50,000 hours on setting 7
CompM4/M4s 80,000 hours on setting 12
Micro T-1 5 years on setting 8 and 1 year on setting 12.
