    IDF is no joke....

At FOB Justice maybe a few weaks before we got there a mortar landed in between the building and the concrete wall, and I happened to move into that room. There were shrapnel holes in the metal holding the windows up, and the concrete wall was messed up pretty good. I heard there was someone in the room who was injured pretty good.

Also while I was there 4 mortars hit by the LZ...the last one was a dud. Some IA soldier picked it up, and tried to give it to my 6'5'' platoon sergeant. Never seen someone that big move so fast.

1st deployment we had a hole in the roof of our building where a rocket hit.

A happy and safe new year to all you guys who are or have been over there. Thanks for watching the gate for the rest of us.

Re: duds, I am militant about not buying stuff made in China for a variety of reasons, one of which is the overall low level of quality. Guess maybe in some cases it's a good thing

Kinda reminds me too of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where at the end he has a job in a bomb factory standing in front of a conveyor. As the bombs come by he hits each one on the nose with a hammer and writes "DUD" on it when it doesn't go off. Let's hope the enemy doesn't get hold of this sensitive information.
